STEK Oost Amsterdam community garden & atelier 2024 January-August

Stek Oost is a residential complex where Stadgenoot rents out 250 studios to young people for a period of ten years. The studios are located in the Watergraafsmeer, Amsterdam near the Station Science Park and next to Zeeburgia football club. The residents of Stek Oost are refugees and Dutch young people aged 18 to 27. All residents are offered a five-year contract and commit to the community at least one hour a week. After 5 year people are moving out and new people are moving in. Our role was to help creating a safe and smooth transition from the old community into a new one also through creating new outdoor community spaces such as the garden and the atelier.
